UCS provides program management, project management advisory services, analysis, and administrative support for military deployment health ventures designed to help improve screening, diagnosis, and treatment of Psychological Health (PH) conditions and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Furthermore, we provide program management support for enterprises that help service members and their families identify, understand, and cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other mental health conditions.

UCS provides program management services for PH/TBI initiatives in support of the larger DoD effort addressing the following areas of improvement:
  • Access to Care
  • Quality of Care
  • Transition of Care among DoD, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), and other sources of care
  • Evaluation and development of best practices for surveillance, screenings, and resilience promotion

Our support aligns directly with the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2006 (H.R. 1815), Title VII, Subtitle C, Section 721(b), requiring DoD to improve the capability of the Military Health System (MHS) to provide early diagnosis and treatment of PTSD and other mental health conditions. Sections 721(b) and 722 of the FY06 NDAA direct the DoD MHS to establish pilot projects to evaluate the effectiveness of evidence-based, interactive therapeutic mental health materials made available to members of the Armed Forces, their families, and veterans via military medical facilities and civilian primary care providers.

UCS’s clients in this area include:
  • Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED)
  • TRICARE Management Activity (TMA)
